Tasting Break Cheese, Chocolate & Wine
22 – 23 January 2018
This January join us for a two-night foodie foray to Northumberland to enjoy five-star comfort and cuisine at the beautiful Eshott Hall and celebrate the fabulous flavours created by two of our local artisan producers: the Northumberland Cheese Company and ‘Cabosse’ Chocolatier.
On your first evening at Eshott Hall you’ll be served a phenomenal five-course tasting menu created by our acclaimed head chef and accompanied by a wine flight, carefully selected to complement each dish.
Wake the following morning to enjoy a hearty Northumbrian breakfast before leaving Eshott Hall at 10.30 am to travel by minibus to the Northumberland Cheese Company, a short drive away.
Here, you’ll spend an hour in the cheese dairy watching first-hand the transition of vats of milk to delicious cheese before tasting some of the 17 different cheeses traditionally handmade on the farm. After the tour, you’ll be served a homemade lunch in the Cheese Loft café.
The foodie trail continues after lunch with a journey (approximately 45 minutes) to Cabosse in Warkworth, home of divine creations from chocolatière-pâtissière Louise Frederique and the go-to destination for lovers of fine continental style pâtisserie and unique fresh cream chocolates. You’ll be treated to a feast for the eyes and the stomach with a chocolate demonstration followed by chocolate tasting with coffee.
Return to Eshott Hall at around 4.30 pm to relax and spend the evening at your leisure.
A full breakfast will be served the next morning to set you up for your onward journey.
Prices from £395 per room for a 2-night stay Monday/Tuesday or Wednesday/Thursday.
