Discover The Farne Islands
A SEABIRD SPECTACLE LIKE NO OTHER
From April through to the end of July, these islands transform into one of Britain’s most spectacular wildlife theatres. You’ll witness an incredible seabird colony featuring 23 different species, including an astonishing 43,000 pairs of puffins! There’s truly nothing quite like experiencing these magnificent numbers in their wild, natural home – it’s a sight that will take your breath away and stay with you long after your visit.

MEET THE FARNE ISLANDS’ YEAR-ROUND RESIDENTS
The islands are also home to a delightfully curious colony of Atlantic Grey Seals who call these waters home all year round. In fact, this is one of England’s premier grey seal breeding sites, where you can witness the magic of new life as over 2,000 adorable seal pups are born each autumn and winter.
Whether you’re a wildlife enthusiast, photographer, or simply someone who loves nature’s wonders, the Farne Islands offer an unforgettable experience that showcases some of Britain’s most incredible marine wildlife.
There are several boat operators who take visitors out to the islands. Billy Shiel’s have been operating for over 100 years and this spring have reported sightings of Orca whales during some of their trips. Unusual for families of Orca’s to be this far south.
Eshott Hall is perfectly located close to the coast and the rich wildlife that inhabits Northumberland. Book a stay and discover the puffins, seabirds and grey seals.
