CHEF DE PARTIE

Hours of work: Full-time, 40 hours per week. 

Salary: £11.85 per hour 

We take food very seriously at Eshott. Meticulous attention to detail goes into crafting each and every dish – elevating our dining to award-winning standards, including the coveted 2 AA rosettes for the highest standards of creative cuisine. Every meal at Eshott Hall is a very special experience, a treat for all the senses: from exquisite canapes with pre-dinner drinks in the drawing room through to the sublime main event served in the restaurant and the divine petit fours at the end of the meal. We have an exciting opportunity for a Chef de Partie to join our acclaimed kitchen team to support the Head Chef, Sous Chef and the Food and Beverage Management Team.

You will be passionate about food and be committed to going the extra mile for our guests, taking pride in our brand service values. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with excellent time management skills, will work autonomously and as part of a team and must be able to plan and prioritise their work load. Previous experience within an AA rosette kitchen is desirable.

The primary purpose of the job is to provide excellent standards of food and consistent service at all times to maximise customer satisfaction.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Run and supervise any kitchen section to the required standards set by management.
  • Ensure all preparation of the designated section is complete and ready for each service
  • Responsible for orders and maintaining good stock and waste control
  • Responsible for the quality control of stock and prepared foods
  • Execute cooking to the expected high standard quickly and efficiently
  • Ensure that stock is rotated and controlled within the specific section of the kitchen.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of the full menu and be able to explain dish descriptions.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the designated section, including fridges is monitored and maintained to the required standard
  • Support Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering required standard of food, and kitchen operation
  • Support junior chefs and apprentices in their development
  • Maintain a positive and proactive attitude at all times
  • Actively seek to improve skills and achieve personal development
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Comply at all times with the Staff Code of Conduct
  • Comply with the provisions of your contract and any of our Company Policies and set an example for more junior members of staff
  • Seek to ensure at all times that all visitors or guests on our sites have the best experience possible.
  • To ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming.
  • To be on-time for all shifts and to ensure that you sign in and out for every shift worked. Ensuring 30 minute break where applicable is taken and recorded.
  • To have a full understanding of the hotels’ fire procedures to ensure safety of all staff and guests at all times.

PART TIME RECEPTIONIST

Hours of work: Part-time, including weekends.

We are looking for a part-time receptionist to join our friendly team. Providing a warm welcome and a can-do attitude, as part of the reception team you are the first point of contact for many guests. You will be dealing with reservations and requests from guests, whether by email, phone or face to face. Responsibilities include welcoming guests in a polite and friendly manner, consistently demonstrating great customer service, making reservations and ensuring the customers’ expectations are met and exceeded. Successful applicants must have excellent customer service skills. Own transport is required due to location. We currently have part-time hours available; hours can vary due to the needs of the business so flexibility is important.
